The Lyska variety, also known as 'Polish', is a shallot with a round bulb shape and copper-yellow skin. The plant propagates vegetatively by bulb division, forming a relatively small number of quite large specimens in a cluster.

The variety is considered undemanding in cultivation, preferring sunny areas with well-drained light soils. It possesses good hardiness in European climate conditions and high potential for long-term storage.
