The variety belongs to the Jersey group and is characterized by a semi-long bulb shape. The outer dry scales are copper-pink in color, and the flesh is whitish-pink. The variety belongs to the late-maturing category.

The plant possesses good resistance to cold and drought, and certified planting material is free from onion yellow dwarf virus. The variety has a deep dormancy stage, stores well for up to 180 days, but is prone to bolting when planted before winter.

Mikor is used as a professional variety for spring planting and sale in the fresh market. In agronomic research, it often serves as a reference sample of the Jersey-type shallot.
