The Mirage variety is officially used in international breeding documentation as a standard for describing the morphotype of shallots. It is not a commercial variety for mass production belonging to any specific breeding company.

As a reference sample, the variety has a brown color of dry scales. The degree of tendency to divide and form daughter bulbs is assessed as medium or strong, depending on growing conditions and the specific test protocol.
