The variety belongs to the 'potato onion' group; when one bulb is planted, it forms a cluster of several daughter individuals. The bulbs are round in shape with white flesh and bright red bulb scales. Genetically, the variety differs significantly from other similar heirloom varieties.

The plant is characterized by hardiness and the ability to develop successfully in zone 7 hardiness conditions. Traditional planting dates fall in mid-May, and the harvest is carried out in August. The variety is used in cooking, in particular for preparing pickled dishes and preserves with herring.
