The variety forms white, fairly large, flat-round bulbs. Taste qualities are characterized as pleasant and pungent. The crop is not intended for long-term storage; only short-term storage is allowed.
The variety is a winter type and is grown for early production in spring and summer. It can be harvested in April for green onions («for scallions»), and in June–July as bulbs. The plant possesses winter hardiness, however, it requires protection under conditions of extremely low temperatures.
