The variety is the result of local selection based on the Babosa variety or a spontaneous mutation. The plant belongs to the short-day culture and is distinguished by early ripening dates: the harvest is collected in mid-May. The bulbs weigh about 140 g and have a white or straw-yellow skin.
The onion possesses a tender structure with microfibers that become unnoticeable during culinary processing, quickly acquires a sweet taste, and breaks down easily when cooked. The variety has a short shelf life — up to two months. In addition to the bulbs, the plant is grown for young shoots, known as cebollots or calçots.
