The variety name is historically associated with the Castello di Belriguardo in Italy. The crop is part of the Aglio di Voghiera regional brand, which has Protected Designation of Origin status.
The bulbs of the variety have a rounded shape, slightly flattened at the base. The color is bright white, sometimes with pink stripes. The produce is characterized by a mild delicate taste with a slight sweetish undertone and high keeping quality.
