The Median variety is a tall-growing grass used for hay production and as a component in forage grass mixtures. In scientific experiments, it is used to evaluate forage quality and ensiling processes, including in mixtures with legumes.

This variety is characterized by a management regime of 2–3 cuts per year. In intensive grass mixtures, the longevity of the plant is limited to approximately three years, and strict adherence to mowing schedules is required due to rapid stem lignification.

The variety is recognized as a standard for comparative analysis in European research. Specific data regarding individual characteristics, such as maturity group or disease resistance, are not available in open sources.
