The plant forms a massive rosette of leaf blades. The leaves are large, dark green, heavily crinkled, and very tender. The petioles are wide and succulent, with a length reaching 20–25 cm.

The variety is intended for cultivation in the open field for fresh greens production. It is characterized by the ability for rapid leaf regrowth after cutting.
