The Flamcaul variety belongs to forage kales and is classified as Brassica oleracea var. medullosa or Brassica oleracea var. acephala. The plant is not a leafy vegetable kale (kale) intended for human consumption.
Morphologically, the variety is a plant about 0.5 meters high and 0.45 meters wide with green leaves. In agronomic classifications, it is referred to as the 'cavalier' type.
In experimental studies, the variety was sown in late May — early June. Its economic value is assessed by indicators of dry matter yield and nutritional value for animal rations.
