The Ruvio variety is a type of kale with strongly curled green leaves and characteristic dark purple stems. The plant is open-pollinated.

The variety acquires its typical taste and increased vitamin C content after exposure to frost. Harvesting of leaves is recommended starting from the lower part of the plant in the period from October to mid-February.
