The plant reaches 80–120 cm in height. The leaves are large, strongly curly, initially green-purple. After the first frosts, their color becomes intensely violet-purple. The leaves have a dense texture and a delicate taste.

The variety is resistant to frosts down to -18°C, which allows harvesting until spring. It is used in cooking for preparing salads, smoothies, side dishes, and soups, and is also used in landscape design for decorating flower beds and container plantings.
