Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant forms an upright rosette of strongly crinkled, blistered leaves. The base color is green with purple-red veins, the intensity of which increases in cool weather, while the inner leaves have a soft green or pale yellow color. The heads are dense, round in shape, with an average weight ranging from 2.0 to 2.2 kg.

The variety is late-maturing with a period from emergence to harvest of 120–150 days. The plant is characterized by high cold resistance, the ability to withstand frosts, and resistance to cracking. The leaves have a juicy, tender structure without coarse veins and a mild, sweetish taste.

The variety is of Italian origin and, according to a number of sources, is the result of a historical cross between Savoy and white cabbage. It is used in cooking for the preparation of various dishes, and due to its decorative appearance, it can be used in mixed plantings.
