The variety forms small, very dense rounded heads with a diameter of 15–20 cm. The outer leaves have a pronounced purple or reddish-purple hue, which intensifies when exposed to cold, while the inside of the head is light yellow.
The vegetation cycle is about 190 days. The plant possesses high cold hardiness and is capable of withstanding frosts down to -15°C. The variety is distinguished by good keeping quality; the heads retain their properties until March when harvested in the period from November to March.
