The roots of the variety have a very elongated shape with a length-to-width ratio of approximately 3:1. About half of the root is submerged in the soil, and the part protruding above the surface is green. The plant has abundant foliage, forming one or two rosettes, and an average number of shoots on the upper part of the root.

The variety is a biennial plant, which in cultivation is often grown as an annual. It is used in livestock farming, allowing cattle to graze in fields and consume both leaves and roots. In official catalogs, the variety is also referred to as Inglês Comprido.
