The roots have an elongated cylindrical shape with a length of 15 to 25 cm. The surface is smooth, colored dark brown or almost black, with dense white flesh inside. The plant forms abundant dark green foliage with dissected leaves.

The variety is classified as fast-growing; harvesting is possible 2–3 months after sowing. The crop is characterized as undemanding and hardy, capable of withstanding short-term frosts down to -5°C. The roots are noted for good keeping quality during the winter period.

The produce is used in cooking for the preparation of soups, purees, and side dishes, and is also suitable for consumption in raw form as part of salads.
