The variety is synthetic; its development involved selection from local and foreign populations. It belongs to the late-maturing group, heading seven days later than the Doina variety.

The plant is characterized by an intensive start of the growing season in the spring. The crop is used in grassland farming and also for the reclamation of degraded lands.
