Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety Purple Haze (synonym Purple Chip) is a hybrid obtained by crossing Buddleja davidii, Buddleja davidii var. nanhoensis «Nanho Purple», Buddleja globosa, and Buddleja lindleyana. The shrub is distinguished by the horizontal growth habit of its branches, reaches a height of 0.6–0.9 m, and has green foliage.

The flowers are gathered in dense drooping panicles of purple-violet color. The plant is characterized by continuous flowering until the first frost, is sterile, does not produce self-seeding, and does not exhibit invasiveness. The variety is resistant to lodging and pests, and attracts pollinators.
