The shrub has an upright form and reaches a height of 10–20 cm, in some cases up to 30 cm. The foliage is very fine, needle-like, and dark green in color. The flowers, 1–10 mm in size, have a bright pink hue with a blue tint. The buds do not open fully, ensuring a long decorative period.
Flowering occurs in the autumn period from September to November. The plant demonstrates good winter hardiness in USDA zones 5–6 and requires slightly acidic, well-drained soils based on sand or peat. Due to its compact size, the variety is suitable for landscaping and ground cover plantings.
This variety is a sport (mutation) of the 'Mary Rose' variety. In commerce, it is found under the full name 'Garden Girls Lönneby Mary Louise' or abbreviated as 'Mary Louise'.
