The plant belongs to the heirloom group of varieties originating from the Oaxaca region in Mexico. The bushes reach a height of 60–90 cm, and the fruit maturation period ranges from 70 to 110 days.
The fruits are 8–10 cm long and 3–4 cm wide, characterized by a coarser skin compared to commercial Jalapeno varieties. Light cracks often form on the surface of the fruits, a process known as corking. The pungency level of the fruits varies within the range of 5 000 – 10 000 SHU.
