Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a local genotype grown in Portugal. Research confirms the presence of crude protein in the fruit composition at about 12.0 g per 100 g of dry matter, as well as the presence of polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Benfeita fruits have less pronounced deep grooves on the surface compared to the Judia variety, which reduces their fragmentation during peeling in industrial processing. The plant is used primarily for the production of edible fruits.
