The BONOSORA variety, also known as Bonosora Garfagnana, Bonosole or Bonosola, is a local cultivar originating from the Garfagnana area of Lucca province. It is currently included in the official regional registers of Tuscany as a valuable genetic resource.

This variety is not industrial and is of interest primarily within the framework of scientific research on the identification and conservation of local chestnut populations using genetic markers.
