The tree is vigorous, reaching 25–35 meters in height under natural conditions. Two nuts usually develop in one cupule; good nut fill is noted. The variety performs poorly as a pollinator, therefore it requires the presence of pollinator varieties for fruit set.

The plant prefers well-drained slightly acidic soils with a pH level from 4.5 to 6.5. The variety is characterized by high susceptibility to root Phytophthora and bark canker, which limits its cultivation to regions free from these diseases. Hardiness zones: 5–8.
