Clone CL-Q-721/392 is the result of breeding work to create hybrids combining the properties of European chestnut and Asian species. Genetically, it belongs to the group of Castanea x coudercii hybrids obtained during programs to breed trees resistant to the ink disease pathogen Phytophthora cinnamomi.

This material is registered as a clone for multifunctional forestry and is propagated vegetatively.
