The tree is characterized by a medium to high growth vigor and a spreading or sub-spherical crown shape. The variety begins fruiting from approximately the 5th year, providing regular yields. The plant is self-incompatible and requires the presence of pollinator trees of other varieties for fruit set.

The fruits are medium to large in size, elliptical or elongated in shape, and have a reddish-brown shiny peel. The white, crisp flesh has a sweet taste and peels easily. The variety is susceptible to chestnut blight and chestnut gall wasp infestation.

The fruits are used for fresh consumption and are traditionally used in confectionery production, in particular for the preparation of marron glacé.
