This ecotype is traditionally grown in the province of Turin, Piedmont region. The fruits are medium to large in size, ellipsoidal in shape with one flat and one convex side. Typically, no more than three nuts form within the burr.

The flesh of the fruit is characterized by a "milky" color, a pleasant aroma, and a sweet taste. The produce is used both fresh and in the confectionery industry. The trees grow at altitudes from 350 to 1200 meters above sea level and require traditional cultivation.
