The MOZZA variety is a local Italian variety traditionally cultivated in the Garfagnana region. Trees of this variety are characterized by rapid growth and the ability to reach significant dimensions: specimens approximately 28 meters in height with a trunk diameter of 70 cm have been recorded.
The primary purpose of the variety is the production of high-quality wood suitable for joinery and structural construction, due to the absence of a tendency for ring shake. The fruits of this variety are also used for the traditional production of chestnut flour.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
