The variety Orchies is a synthetic population obtained through controlled crossing. It is intended for use in the food industry, specifically for the production of soluble chicory and inulin.

The plant possesses good yield potential in terms of fresh root mass and dry matter content. It is characterized by resistance to premature flower stalk formation, which allows for the prevention of a decline in yield quality and quantity under conditions involving the risk of vernalization.
