Variety description

The variety forms dense, well-filled round heads. The weight of the head varies from 200 to 800 grams. The outer leaves have a reddish-green hue, and the inner ones are intensely red with contrasting white veins.

The period from planting to harvest is approximately 110 days. The variety is sensitive to low soil temperatures at an early age and to overheating, which intensifies the bitterness. The intensity of the red leaf coloration increases with a decrease in temperature and a shortening of daylight hours.

Recommended for autumn and winter harvest when sown in summer. Prefers fertile, permeable soils and sufficient moisture. Used primarily fresh, as well as baked or fried.

The variety is a selection of the "Rossa di Chioggia" type. The designation "3" indicates a specific line selected for specific sowing and harvest periods.
