ActiveCitrus clementina hort. ex Tanaka · Clementine
INRA MAROC / ALFONSO BALDRICH
10 August 2026
The variety is an early-ripening mutation of the "Comune" clementine. Fruits ripen in the third ten-day period of October, have a medium size and a deep orange-red rind color. If harvesting is delayed, the fruits are prone to granulation and loss of juiciness.
The plant is distinguished by a compact habit, which allows it to be grown in container cultivation with average but stable yields. The variety is susceptible to diseases that cause wood rot.
It is grown primarily in the southern regions of Italy, such as Calabria and the Gulf of Taranto area, and is used in the production of products with a protected geographical indication.
