The variety is a traditional cultivar grown as grafted trees. The fruits possess a distinct citrus aroma, but are characterized by a high seed count, a tendency toward peel deformation, and often pale coloration.

The plant is prone to alternate bearing, accompanied by high flowering intensity and subsequent mass fruit drop. The fruit ripening period allows the variety to be less susceptible to Mediterranean fruit fly infestation.

Currently, the variety occupies a niche in markets where authentic flavor profiles are valued, and it is also traditionally used in some regions for flavoring food products and beverages.
