The variety is a spontaneous bud mutation of the Rio Red grapefruit. The fruits have a bright red-orange peel and red flesh; the average weight of one fruit is about 467 grams.

The taste qualities are characterized by mildness and a reduced level of bitterness. The trees of this variety tend to form a significant number of fruits directly inside the canopy; the variety is intended for commercial cultivation.
