The variety was bred at the Volcani Institute as part of a state citrus breeding program. In terms of taste characteristics and aromatic composition, the fruits of the «Orit» variety are comparable to the «Orri» variety.

This mandarin is positioned as a premium quality commercial development. At present, detailed agrotechnical data, including exact maturation periods and specific disease resistance, are presented in open sources to a limited extent.
