The variety Star Cott 1 (formerly known as Super Cott 1) was obtained as a result of a bud mutation of the mandarin hybrid AS-2 under the influence of gamma radiation. The plant is distinguished by an upright growth habit and a compact crown shape; the branches have a strong structure and slightly rough bark.

This variety belongs to the category of late-maturing hybrids and is intended for commercial use, including high-density planting. The fruits of the variety are practically seedless.
