Variety description

10 August 2026

The Mapo tree grows vigorously, forming a rounded crown. Under natural conditions, the height reaches 10–11 meters, however, in cultivation, the height is maintained at 3.5–4 meters. The plant's shoots can be thorny, and the leaves have an elliptical shape with a pointed tip.

The fruits, weighing 150–220 g, are round and have a thin, easily separable rind, which can remain green even when ripe. The flesh is juicy, containing more than 50% juice, and the taste is sweet-and-sour. The number of seeds depends on pollination conditions, as the variety is self-sterile and requires pollinator trees.

The variety is very early; the harvest is collected in September–October. The trees do not possess high cold hardiness. The fruits are consumed fresh, used for juice production, and in the production of liqueurs.
