The vigorous tree reaches a height of 4–5 meters and has strong, drooping branches without thorns. Fruits ripen from November to April and are characterized by a thin, firm red-orange rind and pulp divided into 10–12 segments. The taste is characterized as sweet-and-sour with a distinct aroma.
The number of seeds in the fruits depends on cross-pollination. The variety is grown both for juice production and fresh market sales, as well as an ornamental plant. The plant possesses relative frost resistance and is most productive in a subtropical climate.
