Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety Early Sicily (breeding number C1867) is a vigorous tree at a young age. The fruits are medium to large in size, weighing about 214 g with a diameter of 77 mm; they have an oval shape and an orange, easy-to-peel rind.

The flesh is sweet and juicy, with a juice content of about 47%. The variety is practically seedless. The reddish pigmentation of the flesh depends on temperature conditions; the color intensity increases during cool storage.

The variety is classified as early: depending on the region, harvesting begins from mid-May to June. Cultivation using Troyer and Carrizo Citrange rootstocks is recommended; it is sensitive to the product Cit-tite.
