The variety is a hybrid of New Zealand species Clematis paniculata and Clematis marmoraria. The plant possesses glossy, deeply divided foliage. The diameter of the white flowers with golden stamens is 6–7 cm.

The height of the vine varies from 1.5 to 5 meters, with smaller dimensions when grown in containers. Flowering occurs in March–May on the previous year's shoots, therefore the variety requires minimal pruning.

The plant is moderately winter hardy, withstands temperature drops down to -8...-10°C, prefers sites with good drainage and does not tolerate water stagnation. Used for landscaping walls, arches, trellises, or as a groundcover plant.
