The F25P29 variety, also known as Tonda Etrusca, was obtained through the hybridization of Tonda Gentile Romana and Tonda di Giffoni varieties. It is one of the eight most promising genotypes selected from 4000 seedlings during the breeding program.
The plant features a spheroidal fruit shape, late bud break, and a kernel percentage of about 51%. The genotype is characterized by an absence of or reduced sensitivity to the main hazelnut diseases and pests.
This variety was intended for the confectionery industry. Researchers noted the need for further work or the application of agronomic practices to increase its yield.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
