The variety is a late-maturing plant, the primary purpose of which is to provide cross-pollination in commercial orchards. The fruits are large, round-oval in shape, weighing about 3.4 g, with the kernel accounting for about 45% of the nut weight. The nuts separate easily from the husk upon ripening, but are characterized by a very poor ability to blanch.

The plant possesses genetic incompatibility with certain varieties, for example, with «Jefferson», due to the presence of the S3 allele. In addition to use as a pollinizer, the variety has been used in experimental research as a rootstock for studying root sucker management methods.
