The Longue d'Espagne variety is a vigorously growing branched shrub 3–4 meters in height. The harvest ripens in September. The nuts are large, of an elongated ovoid shape with a conical top; the kernel is distinguished by a sweet taste. Frost resistance is up to -20°C. Cross-pollination is recommended for effective fruiting.
The Lambert rød variety forms a loose, spreading crown 3–4 meters in height. A distinctive feature is the reddish coloration of the foliage and fruits. The nuts are medium-sized, egg-shaped, with a characteristic almond aftertaste. The variety is self-incompatible and is used for both fruit-bearing and ornamental purposes.
