The Temptation variety (known as SME 8401) belongs to the orange-fleshed melon group. The fruits are round in shape, with an average weight of about 2 kg. The skin is smooth, cream-colored, sometimes with a greenish hue. A characteristic feature is the presence of a green ring of flesh directly near the skin.
The maturation period of the hybrid is 85–90 days. The variety possesses resistance to Fusarium wilt race 2 and powdery mildew. It is intended for sale in fresh produce markets and supply to retail chains.
