The fruit is large, oval-shaped, weighing from 2 to 3 kg. The skin has a dark green, almost black color and a characteristic light ribbing. The flesh is firm, light-green in shade, and distinguished by a sweet taste.
The variety belongs to late-maturing melons. It possesses the ability for long-term storage after harvest. Due to its heat-loving nature, it is recommended for cultivation in greenhouses or in warm climate conditions.
The variety is considered a traditional Spanish landrace. There is data on testing samples for resistance to the pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis; however, the level of resistance may vary, and the varietal characteristics of individual lines may be heterogeneous.
