The plant is vigorous and tall, with silvery, deeply dissected foliage. The broad and fleshy leaf stalks are practically devoid of spines.

The variety is valued for the ability of the stalks to blanch quickly and for good keeping quality during the winter period. The crop demonstrates marked cold resistance.
