The plant reaches a height of about 173 cm. Leaves are grayish-green, have a semi-erect habit, and are about 100 cm long. Petioles are fleshy; internal ones are light-colored, external ones are green. The variety is spineless.

To obtain a crop suitable for food, the petioles must undergo a blanching process, which consists of isolating them from light for several weeks before harvesting. This gives the petioles tenderness and a lighter shade.
