The Highlander variety in the culture of bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) is a warm-season perennial grass intended for lawns at sports facilities and in parks. The plant is characterized by high wear tolerance, drought tolerance, medium-fine texture, dark green color, and the ability to form a dense turf, reaching a height of 10–50 cm.

The Highlander variety in the culture of eastern gamagrass (Tripsacum dactyloides) is a robust perennial plant used as a forage crop for hay and grazing. The plant forms dense bunches up to 1.2 meters in diameter, reaches a height of 1.5–2.7 meters, and possesses marked disease resistance.
