Variety description

The Taigetsu variety was obtained by crossing the Kurokuma and Taishuu varieties. The trees have high growth vigor and the ability for parthenocarpy. The fruits ripen in early November, have juicy flesh, and a sugar content of about 15.4%. The skin of the fruits is prone to forming a fine network of surface cracks.

For fruit marketing, post-harvest or pre-harvest treatment to remove astringency is required, for example, using ethanol. The variety is intended for commercial production, however, data on disease resistance in publications is absent.
