Perennial semi-evergreen plant with a rhizomatous growth type. Forms spreading clumps, reaching about 60 cm in height and up to 90 cm in width. The foliage has a blue-green hue, with a possible red tint in spring. Bright chartreuse inflorescences appear in spring and gradually acquire orange and reddish tones.
The plant is adapted to USDA hardiness zones 7a–10b. It requires well-drained soils and grows well in both full sun and partial shade. Characterized by vigorous growth and resistance to deer. Used in landscape design for flower beds, borders, and as an accent plant.
