The variety Braveheart (also known by the code DP 50-9407) was developed for professional landscaping, park areas, golf courses, and sports fields. Compared to earlier varieties, such as KY-31, it is distinguished by improved characteristics of color, leaf texture, and turf density.

The plant demonstrates high resistance to trampling and intensive physical stress, and also tolerates drought conditions. The variety shows resistance to a number of fungal diseases, including infections by the pathogen Rhizoctonia solani.
