The variety is intended for use as hay and pasture. The absence of an endophytic fungus ensures safety when feeding livestock, contributing to higher productivity and animal weight gain rates compared to varieties containing toxic endophytes.
The plant possesses pronounced resistance to crown rust and leaf spot. The variety was selectively bred to obtain high yields of green mass and seeds. The genetics of this variety formed the basis for the creation of a number of subsequent generations of fescue.
